Psalm 19

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5 , 2012

Heaven and Earth are full of God’s glory. We
hymn God this way every Eucharist. Our
Psalm today tells it out. Heaven and Earth
follow a law that is high and deep. And yet God’s
law is near us. The Holy Spirit writes the law on
our hearts. We pray today for God to keep us from presumptuous sins—those sins we do not know because they cling too closely; the ones so familiar that our conscience does not recoil from them. As we grow spiritually, our words and meditations become acceptable to the Lord. God etches the perfect law of freedom more firmly upon our hearts, day by day.

O God, whose law is very near and in our hearts, grant us the wisdom to see your will in Heaven and Earth, that our own lives may manifest your perfect law of love, to your honor and glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
