Greg Garrett to speak at Washington National Cathedral

Seminary of the Southwest Writer in Residence Greg Garrett (MDiv 2007) will discuss “Finding God in the Culture” with Washington National Cathedral Dean Samuel Lloyd at the Sunday Forum on May 2. The Forum, the Cathedral’s premiere public program, is a weekly interview with a writer, religious leader, or newsmaker conducted in the nave of the cathedral before the main service. Recent Forum guests have included Desmond Tutu, Barbara Brown Taylor, Brian McLaren, Diana Butler Bass, Krista Tippett, and Francis Collins.
Dr. Garrett, who teaches the introductory research and writing class for incoming juniors at the Seminary of the Southwest, is an award-winning Professor of English at Baylor University. The author of a dozen acclaimed books of fiction, memoir, and nonfiction, Dr. Garrett is also a speaker, retreat leader, and licensed lay preacher based at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Austin.
