Kathy Barrett
Adjunct Faculty
Kathy’s professional background is in workforce development and career counseling. She studied at The Florida State University and earned an M.S. in Counseling and a Ed. Specialist in career counseling. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Kathy practices at the Samaritan Center for Counseling and Pastoral Care. Career issues and general mental health concerns are her special areas of interest and expertise and, in particular, the intersection of the two. For over thirty years, Kathy worked with the Rural Capital Area Workforce Development Board and Centers providing or administering services to job seekers. She has taught Career Counseling as an Adjunct Instructor at Southwest since 2006. She is an active member of University United Methodist Church and enjoys ballroom dancing.
