Kathleen Russell appointed to pastoral theology position
The Board of Trustees at the May 7 meeting on the seminary campus approved the recommendation of the faculty and education committee to appoint the Rev. Kathleen Russell, DMin, associate professor of pastoral theology.
Professor Russell joined the faculty at Southwest in 2005 to teach contextual theology for ministry and to lead the field education program, both of which she will continue in her new role.
Russell recently completed studies and research for a doctor of ministry with a concentration in Christian nurture at Austin Presbyterian Seminary.
The position of professor of pastoral theology has been vacant since the retirement of the Rev. Charles Cook in 2008.
