Q&A 2
What has made the most impact on each of you so far on your trip? Jodi Baron
Jodi, thanks so much for your question!
Kellaura’s answer to your question is:
The thing that has had the most impact on me is driving to and from different places and looking out the windows. It is astounding to see the range of lifestyles in Haiti from the people who shop at the fancy new Porsche room to the man who was selling rat traps on the street outside the Porsche room. I know this kind of disparity exists all over the world and in our own cities but somehow in Haiti it has had a big impact on me.
My answer to your question is:
This is my fifth trip to Haiti and every time I am blown away! After coming to Haiti just two months after the earthquake, I prayed to God asking Him how will the country ever recover? Will they ever feel safe again? I can honestly say that with God’s help they are recovering and they are doing that recovery in the most beautiful and sincere way. They are thankful for what they have, they are grateful for the people from around the world that have come to help them, they are appreciative of new life in their country, and they are patiently awaiting new communities and a better way of being. Part of my heart belongs to Haiti and I am ever so blessed for that.
Thanks for your question and we are grateful to you for being so supportive of us!
Blessings,
Mary Balfour
